U.S Hands Over Liquid Oxygen Plant to Ghana - U.S. Embassy Ghana
The United States, in partnership with the Ghana Health Service, officially commissioned 10 cutting-edge liquid oxygen plants across 7 regions—marking the largest investment in oxygen infrastructure in Ghana’s history. These plants are reliable, efficient, and ready—even during power outages. With U.S. support, more than 155,000 Ghanaians every year will now have access to this critical, life-saving care. This partnership not only saves lives but also strengthens global health security and boosts economic ties.
Also, the U.S. Embassy handed over 104 motorcycles to the Ghana Health Service and the Christian Health Association of Ghana for community health officers to reach communities with life-saving care. Over the past three years, the United States has donated over 300 motorcycles, 22 vehicles, 3,000 tablets, three boats, and $1.7 million in health equipment to the Ghana Health Service. This handover builds on our strong partnership with Ghana to strengthen primary health care through equipment, training, and support for health workers across the country. This collaboration strengthens global health security and benefits both of our countries.
